ACRO
Age restriction: 7 years and up
Requirements: Taking a technical dance class
Jazz, Contemporary or Ballet
Open to those with a keen interest in circus and acrobatics.
You will have the opportunity to have hands on help to learn a huge range of individual, partner and group skills. Have fun working with like-minded people and building confidence in your abilities.
We also incorporate Aerial work into our term schedule.
CONTEMPORARY
Age restriction: 9 years and up
Requirements: None
Learn to better understand your body and mind with guidance and individual feedback.
Contemporary offers an opportunity to strengthen yourself as a dancer, storyteller and choreographer. The wide range of work we do in class will improve not only your skills and technique, but your love for movement and creative expression.
We recommend taking another style of dance alongside Contemporary, such as Jazz, to give you a strong base.
JAZZ
Age restriction: None
Requirements: None
Classes are split into Junior, Intermediate, Senior and Advanced levels, taking into consideration age, level and experience.
Jazz is a strong base for all other styles of dance. In class, you will have the chance to develop your technique, flexibility, elevation and style with individual feedback and encouragement to help you best improve.
We strive to open you up to a variety of genres within Jazz, and this can benefit you hugely when it comes to finding your style.
MUSICAL THEATRE
Age restriction: 7 years
Requirements: Strongly recommend also taking Jazz
As the first studio to teach Musical Theatre in Hawkes Bay, we can promise you lessons jam-packed with two decades of experience, knowledge and student success.
Be introduced to a wide smorgasbord of theatre classics, age and phase appropriate. Develop confidence in not only the roles you play, but within yourself, as you explore the big titles and hidden gems of the Musical Theatre world!
TAP
Age restriction: 6 years and up
Requirements: None
Tap incorporates elements of musicality, coordination, rhythm and style, and is proven to be a healthy work-out not only for your body, but for your brain!
You will have the opportunity to work with different genres and styles within tap, learn a range of choreography and skills, and develop your own unique style and sense of rhythm.
We use elements of NZAMD and AJDA syllabus work, along with other styles and influences.
TIPTOES
Age restriction: 3 & 4 years
Requirements: None
A fun and engaging environment for young movers.
A chance for children to explore movement and musicality, while learning to function in a small group setting.
Creativity and imagery are used to guide the movements and lessons. Dance elements are incorporated into games, play acting and creative movement.
We have two classes (3 year olds & 4 year olds), both supervised by two adult staff members and one/two helpers.
ADVANCED JAZZ
Strong dance background needed.
DANCE FIT
Want to keep fit in a fun, no pressure environment? This class is for you! Take it easy or work up a sweat - the option is yours.
MUSICAL THEATRE
New this year. Let us know if you are interested! 18+
TAP
We have two adult classes running 2025. Beginners Tap and one for levelling up if you have previous experience.
Note: If you have significant experience, you are welcome to join other adults in the Advanced Tap class with older teens.
